NOTE: Original report was for 64-bit on 64-bit, so this is not necessarily an explanation of the original issue.
That when running 32-bit apps on Win 64 C:\Windows\SysWOW64 is mapped to C:\Windows\system32.Ĭopying the missing DLL to SysWOW64 made it work. I get this on both Python 3.6.1 32-bit and 2.7.13 32-bit on Win 10 Pro 64-bit Anniversary Edition 1607. I cannot see any significant difference in security permissions that might cause this - only difference is security permissions for some are inherited and some are not inherited. Some other dlls in that directory result in True and some in False.
os.path.isfile('C:\Windows\system32\discid.dll') = False when the dll exists.

example: C:Program Files (x86)'Game name'openal32.dll. openal32.dll is commonly found in the install folder of the game or program using it. My processor is: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 2. FilesĬ_library does not seem to be able to find certain libraries in Python3.3 on Win32 platforms anymore, if the library suffix is omitted. OpenA元2.dll is often used by games, but can also be used by other software wishing to make use of its capabilities. I Fond OpenA元2.dll in my system but my game is SuperTux 0.5.1 and can't install it because SDL2.dll ,and SDL2.dll image, squirrel.dll, plus sqstdlib.dll are missing but itwas working with windows 7,8,10 until the 1809. Look at the System Type and what is listed next.
